i'm learning to fly, but i ain't got wings. Born in Los Angeles, California to Jensen and Annabelle Danvers, Chelsea was the youngest of three children to the happy couple. Jensen was a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General and former NASA Astronaut who received a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University in 1985 and was assigned as an assistant professor of aeronautics at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Annabelle was successful in her own right working as a general surgeon at the Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. The Danvers family was the very definition of the โ€œHappily Ever Afterโ€ family.

Growing up a rambunctious little girl always following in her dadโ€™s footsteps, Chelsea looked up to Jensen wanted to do everything her father did to make him proud. But at the age of ten, she would find herself in the hospital after experiencing several fainting episodes coupled with a rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath. After being diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, Chelsea began taking medicines to regulate her heartbeat but life as she knew it would be forever changed. Unable to run around as she was used to, the outgoing Chelsea transformed into the shell of the girl she once was. The transformation into a quiet loner made life a little more difficult in the Danvers household as the family tried to find ways of supporting the ever-changing dynamic.

Over the years, she found comfort in books and science, excelling in only her the favored courses while struggling academically everywhere else. A trait that was uncharacteristic among her older siblings. She still managed to get through high school relatively unnoticed, as she became known as the quirky recluse who did little to fit into the social normalcy of teenage life. Chelsea dreamed of following in her fatherโ€™s career path but knew that her heart condition, and lack of a high GPA, would prevent her from ever achieving that dream and remained in finding where it was that she fit into the world.

After high school graduation, she attempted a short-lived stint at the closest community college only to find herself dropping out after her eighteenth birthday. Unhappy with their daughterโ€™s decision, Jensen and Annabelle gave Chelsea an ultimatum. Get a job or move out. Finding a job as a flight attendant, she found a career path that brought her out of her shell and allowed her to travel the world. Finally finding a place where she fit in, Chelsea continued working for Virgin Atlantic Airlines for seven years before unfortunately losing her job due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After being let go, Chelsea found a way to make her favorite stopover city her permanent place of residence.
carol danvers (captain marvel)
Carol Danvers was born to Joe Danvers Sr., a former U.S. Navy officer and construction worker, and Mari-Ell, a captain in the Kree Army. Mari-Ell had been sent to Earth on a mission to assimilate with humans and give birth to a hybrid child, but had decided to abandon her former life and cut contact with the Kree. Carol's name comes from Car-Ell, which means "Champion" in Kree.

Carol was raised in a Beverly suburban community to the north of Boston, Massachusetts, completely unaware that she was not a normal human. She also lived with Stevie and Joe Jr., two sons Joe had had with his previous, late wife. Over the years, Carol's father became increasingly apprehensive for potential retaliation from the Kree for Mari-Ell's desertion, causing him to drink and become abusive. In part due to her Kree heritage, Carol dreamed of becoming an astronaut and traveling to distant planets; as a teen she even hitchhiked to Cape Canaveral to view a launch there. Her father, however, could not accept women as men's equal, and when financial troubles meant he could only send one child to college, he chose Steve despite Carol's superior grades. He also dismissed her need for a college education and wanted her to find a good husband instead. (more)
